Homework Help, Humeridge Church of Christ

Homework Help is a homework club, run by Humeridge Church of Christ, designed to specifically help migrant and refugee students from preschool to grade 12 with literacy, numeracy, homework and assignments.

On average there are 70 children and youth who attend. These children are African, Afghani and Syrian. The program has been recognised in local and national media. It is also well respected by community leaders, who acknowledge the important work that is being done.

This program has made it possible for our church to minister within the African community, Muslim community and Syrian community, some of whom have never heard the Gospel and have had little or no contact with the christian church. Most of the children who attend homework help, also attend the youth and children's ministry programs at Humeridge Church of Christ. Many refugee parents have connected into our English classes for adults - run here twice a week at HumeRidge Church of Christ.
