Ride for Refugees began in 2004 with International Teams Canada.  Twenty-five riders raised $25,000; since then the RIDE has expanded, taking place in various locations across Canada, United States and Australia, raising over $1.9 million for the refugee programs of International Teams and approved RIDE partners.

The inaugural Australian RIDE took place on 17th October 2009 with 140 riders raising over $36,000 for various refugee causes both in Sydney and around the world.

So where did the money go?

Funds raised in 2009, 2010 and 2011 went towards International Teams Refugee work in Austria, Malawi, Athens and Sydney.  Over $70,000 has been distributed to these International Teams programs and approved RIDE Partners through the Ride Partner Grant program, bringing great impact to both local and global refugee projects.
